Intercultural Women’s Cinema in Dialogue – „Lemon Tree“

“Lemon Tree” – Women, Self-Determination and Social Barriers | 5 September 2026

KIBA e.V. screened the film Lemon Tree on 5 September. We were delighted to welcome Zoe Anthea Cross as our special guest.

The screening was followed by an intensive and lively discussion about the role of women in patriarchal structures, external control and social expectations – and, above all, about the courage of women to make their own decisions and pursue their goals despite resistance.

The discussion highlighted that equality and self-determination are fundamental principles of a democratic society. Rights on paper alone are not enough. They must become part of everyday social reality, and this requires women to be able to raise their voices – and to be heard.

We sincerely thank Inga Krüger and all our guests for an open and engaging evening filled with different perspectives and thought-provoking conversations.
